Open-Type Diesel Generator Set
1.1 Open-type diesel generator sets are widely used in projects such as real estate developments, commercial facilities, factories, logistics parks, and intelligent computing centers.
1.2 They can be used as the primary power source or as a standby power supply.
1.3 When selecting the model, the radiator should be chosen according to the ambient temperature. A 40°C radiator is normally used; in special locations with higher ambient temperatures, a 50°C radiator is required.
1.4 When the engine is operating at an altitude below 1500 meters, power derating may not be considered. For altitudes above 1500 meters, engine power derating must be taken into account, and a technical solution will be provided according to the specific conditions.
1.5 When the ambient humidity exceeds 60%, it is recommended to install a dehumidifier for the generator. This helps prevent condensation in the control cabinet and moisture damage to electrical components that may cause short circuits. In environments with consistently high humidity, such as underground generator rooms, dehumidification equipment should operate continuously to maintain stable humidity.
1.6 In coastal areas, corrosion protection should be considered. Metal components such as the generator enclosure, base frame, and radiator fins should be coated with anti–salt spray corrosion-resistant paint or treated with galvanizing and passivation. Key bolts and connectors should be protected with anti-rust grease and protective covers. Electrical components such as control cabinets, junction boxes, and motor windings should adopt sealed structures with protection ratings of IP55 or above, and be equipped with anti–salt spray breather valves to balance internal and external air pressure and prevent moisture and salt spray from entering. The air intake system should be equipped with high-efficiency air filters and salt spray filtration devices to prevent salt-containing air from entering the internal combustion engine cylinders and accelerating wear of pistons and cylinder liners.
1.7 When the ambient temperature is below 10°C, the engine should be equipped with an engine jacket water heater, fuel heater, or intake air preheating device to ensure reliable engine starting.
1.8 The open-type diesel generator set should be equipped with a fuel tank with capacity for 8 hours of full-load operation, as well as a flame arrester specifically designed for the fuel tank.
1.9 The open-type diesel generator set should be equipped with a matching silencer, and the equipment should be properly positioned and installed on site.
